Apache rsyslog Not Working on CentOS

If your server’s Apache rsyslog not working on CentOS, this tutorial will help you to resolve the issue.

First check the vision of the rsyslog.

The version that has issue is rsyslog-8.24.0-34.el7.x86_64

To check the version of the rsyslog use following command:

# rpm -qa|grep sysl

rsyslog-8.24.0-34.el7.x86_64

Check the status of the rsyslog service:

# systemctl status rsyslog

Above command will show the service is active and running.

To resolve the issue, remove rsyslog and install syslog-ng

To remove rsyslog:

# yum remove rsyslog

To install syslog-ng

# yum install syslog-ng
